The must see Miradores of Tenerife

Miradores of Tenerife

Miradores are viewpoints designed to give you the most breathtaking scenery. In Tenerife, you will find plenty of such places, but some are so outstanding that we dedicated an entire article to them. These viewpoints are easy to find because you have a special sign for them. Also, most of them are on the side of the road, so you don’t need to worry about getting there. All you need to enjoy the Miradores is a good camera and maybe a car to get you there. Let’s get started.

Mirador de Cruz de Hilda

Mirador de Cruz de Hilda

This place is situated at the border between Masca and Teno and therefore, the landscape is rugged but awe-inspiring. You can delight your eyes with gorgeous mountains, brave palm trees growing on steep walls, enormous aloe vera and a serpent like road that will take you to the village. If you are lucky, maybe there will be some fog hitting the ridge, giving it a mysterious appearance. Anyways, probably the best thing about this lookout point is that you can actually have coffee here. Besides that, keep in mind that the road there is a bit narrow and requires some decent driving skills.

Mirador de Jardina

Situated in the Rural Park of Anaga, this viewpoint gives you an unique perspective of Teide and the beautiful city of San Cristobal de La Laguna, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. The place blends nature and beautiful architecture in a very quiet and tranquil environment. From this point, you can start an adventure like a real explorer used to do in the jungle through the Anaga Rural Parque because this place has the most luxurious vegetation on the island. Sometimes, local farmers sell their produce here, so if you feel like having a nutritious meal, go for it.

What a great place this is to touch the clouds, feel like in Heaven but also admire El Teide. The authorities actually built a road just to take you to this beautiful place. If the day is sunny and the atmosphere is clear, you can actually see all the way to La Palma, which is almost 200 km away. The most special feature of this place is the clouds that sit beneath you and cover the mountain like cotton candy. The Sun disappears under this fluffy blanket in the afternoon, so make sure you get there in the second part of the day. If you are a hiker, there are some nice circular trails from this point that will take you through pine forests and arid planes so take your favourite boots with you.
