Best beaches in Tenerife

The beautiful island of Tenerife is filled with beaches so you can find at least one to fit your needs. You have black and golden sand beaches, but you also can enjoy some special features such as waterfalls on a beach, huge cliffs to surround it or just stunning views. We tried to dedicate an article to those beaches that are not so popular so that you can enjoy a nice afternoon without any stress. Bring your sunscreen and swimming costume, of course.

Benijo beach

Benijo beach

This is the best place on the island to watch the sunset but it is also a good choice for sunbathing and having some fun in the waves. There are some cliffs that just come up from the water to make the entire landscape look more impressive. Also, while you are there, make sure you try some grilled goat cheese manufactured right there, in the village. Sometimes, the waves are quite impressive so you can take your board with you, to practice your skills.

Playa de Roque Bermejo

You need to hike to get there, but it will definitely be worth it. The trip starts in Chamorga, a remote village in Anaga Rural Park. You can either descend through the Barranco de Roque Bermejo or choose to go on a path closer to the big cliffs that end in the ocean. Both of these hiking trails are just breathtaking, so we recommend you to descend on one and return on the other. The beach at the end of the trail has beautiful views and there is a small romantic village close to it. It is a truly special place on the island.

Playa de los Roques

There is no better beach on the island for a good Instagram picture. Close to the shore, there is this big stone arch and you can actually go beneath it. The place gives you an idea about the power of the waves and how, in time, the ocean is the greatest sculptor in nature. Not many people know about this place, so you can always find your place for some sunbathing. It is located close to Puerto de la Cruz, so you can take a walk there and enjoy the city as well.

Masca Beach

So maybe you have already heard about the Masca trail, but let us tell you a secret. At the end of the trail, there is this magical beach, surrounded by huge cliffs. Here you get one of the best views of La Gomera. You can reach this beach by hiking from Masca village (but you have to sign up for this here). Another option is to go on a boat trip, starting from Los Gigantes. If you are lucky, you might see some dolphins and pilot whales on your way.
